Emergency crews have rushed to the scene of a serious crash involving a motorbike and car that has brought peak hour traffic to a near-standstill.
The motorcyclist, in his 60s, has been rushed to hospital with non-life threatening injuries after the collision on Mitchell Freeway’s southbound lane between Warwick Road and Reid Highway.
A witness reported seeing the man lying on the road before St John Ambulance crews arrived.
He has been taken to hospital under normal road conditions and will be treated for minor injuries.
Traffic has banked up with the closure of the affected lanes significantly reducing the flow of cars.
Main Roads has warned drivers the right lanes are blocked and roadside assistance was also on the scene.
Traffic is heavy on approach and drivers have been reminded to merge safely.
