Two missing men have been located alive after they failed to return home from a fishing trip at an isolated coastal spot.

Lane Schwerin and Brett Zunker went missing in the Burdekin area of North Queensland on Saturday after the pair left on their boat about 3pm.

Family members took to social media on Sunday to call for public help to find them.

“No one has seen or heard from them since,” Lauren Schwerin wrote on social media.

“There are grave concerns for their safety.

“Please if anyone has seen or heard from them please contact police (let me know).

“Please please please share around.”

Ms Schwerin said a search and rescue team had been looking for the men since 2am on Sunday and had recovered esky, a lifevest and fuel tank, but there was no sign of the men.

A Queensland spokeswoman confirmed with NCA NewsWire on Sunday afternoon a search operation was launched for the men.

But in another post from Sunday just after 2pm, Ms Schwerin revealed the good news.

“They have been found alive,” she wrote, all in capital letters.

Her post was met with a flood of relief.

“Hope everything is okay with them, send you all so much love,” one person said.

“Great news Lauren … the boys here are relieved … sending love to you all!” another wrote.
