The two men who allegedly scaled Hally’s Rooftop Bar to continue their night of fun have found themselves instead in hot water, facing criminal charges for their “stupid acts”. About 10pm on Sunday police attended the popular night spot after two men allegedly set off the bar’s alarms. Police said the 21-year-old and 22-year-old scaled the outside of Hally’s nightclub only to find the rooftop bar locked and set the alarm off when they ventured downstairs. While police said the pair had fled the scene by the time police arrived, their identities were discovered only 30 minutes after police put the call out for their identity on Twitter. Acting Senior Sergeant Phillip Nation said the pair’s alleged “drunken adventure” was a prime example of excessive drinking leading to criminal charges. “These kinds of stupid acts are always going to get caught out and an otherwise fun night ends up in criminal charges,” he said. “It’s also an example of the value of social media in these kinds of cases, with their identities being discovered within only half an hour — thank you to all of the public’s support.” The pair have been charged with burglary with intent and trespass and will appear in Busselton Magistrates Court next month.
