Busselton police have arrested a 17-year-old boy for a spate of overnight break-ins and for wielding a kitchen knife. His alleged crime spree began with a break-in at a Geographe Bay Road home. It is alleged he fled when the homeowner interrupted him. Police then allege the teenager went to the Busselton Esplanade Hotel and broke into a room and rummaged through the luggage of a hotel guest. When confronted by hotel staff, police allege the teenager produced a large carving knife before fleeing. It’s understood he is known to police and was on bail at the time for a number of other unrelated charges. Police managed to apprehend the boy a short distance from the hotel. He was arrested and remanded in custody, charged with breaching bail curfew, two counts of attempted burglary and being armed to cause fear.
