After months of uncertainty, South West Counselling has secured funding from the State Government.

Last month, the Times reported the future of the service was in limbo because of the Department of Communities switching its focus to “early intervention strategies”.

However, this week the organisation was told it would continue to be funded.

South West Counselling chief executive Karen Sommerville said the organisation was extremely grateful the department had recognised the value of the service to the community and had agreed to continue providing funding.
