Dane Swan heads west to Magpies’ nest

Busselton Dunsborough Times

Players and football fanatics will be treated to a visit from Collingwood Football Club’s 2011 Brownlow medallist Dane Swan at the Busselton Football Club on Wednesday night next week.

The former AFL player will host a training session with Magpies senior players at the club grounds from 6pm, followed by a sportsman’s night from 7pm.

Busselton Football Club president Rob Witten said the sportsman’s night was open to football players and fans alike and would give people the opportunity to meet and listen to one of the great characters in AFL.

“He’s a pretty interesting fellow and I think most of our players and supporters will be interested to hear his story,” he said.

West Coast Eagles legend Glen Jakovich will also be in attendance, taking the Magpies women’s training session before the event.

Cash-only tickets are available for $30 a person from Bridgestone Select and table bookings are essential.

The ticket price includes a hot beef and gravy roll, with bar facilities available in the evening.
