Film fest facility’s first big civic event

Celebrations at this year’s CinefestOZ will be held at the recently completed City of Busselton civic and administration facility.
The 10th anniversary festival will be the first large-scale event to be held in the centre’s Undalup Room, with the building to replace the CinefestOZ festival marquee that used to be set up across from Orana Cinemas at Victoria Square.
The Undalup Room will be used for IndigifestOZ Day, the Cinesnaps schools day, the Film Prize finalist films’ before and after-parties, and other celebrations throughout the festival.
CinefestOZ chairwoman Helen Shervington said organisers couldn’t wait to celebrate in the new space.
“We are excited that the City of Busselton has finally got such a wonderful community space that can be utilised by CinefestOZ and other community-based organisations throughout the year,” she said.
“We can’t wait to make the most of the Undalup Room, which we will bring to life during our five-day festival.
“Audiences are going to be delighted with this new venue and what it has to offer.”
Busselton Mayor Grant Henley said CinefestOZ was the “perfect opportunity” to showcase the centre.
“We wish the organisers, participants and event-goers all the best for a truly wonderful festival,” he said. Earlybird tickets go on sale on July 7.
