Hip-hop stalwart to host workshop
Perth hip-hop performer Optamus will be at the Wardan Centre, Injidup, next Friday to help build children’s rap skills.
The Downsyde rapper will host the workshop from midday to 2.30pm on June 23, with the theme of “United Beats” to guide the direction of the day.
Children are encouraged to bring their own rhymes and lyrics, ready to rap some bars, and are invited to come earlier, between 10.30am and lunch, for a jam before the workshop.
Optamus — real name Scott Griffiths — has been a mainstay in the WA hip-hop scene for years as part of Perth outfit Downsyde.
The rapper has run workshops throughout the State and has been recognised in the WAMI awards for his recordings.
Cost for the hip-hop workshop is a gold-coin donation to support the Wardan Centre. For more information phone 0437 766 951.
