Road safety message reiterated by police after Busselton teen is charged with reckless driving

Police are doubling down on driving education in schools and homes after a teen boy was charged with reckless driving in Busselton. The 14-year-old was allegedly driving 160km/h in Ambergate on March 31 which was allegedly filmed on a mobile phone from inside the vehicle. While police charged the teen with reckless driving, Busselton officers have reiterated the message of road safety with the teen’s parents and peers. Officers have attended local schools, government agencies and the teen’s parents to further reiterate the message, according to South West Superintendent Geoff Stewart. “The last thing we need is adding to the tally of affected families or serious injuries, or worse — death,” he said. “The conversation of looking out for each other on the roads and the risks that happen when you get on the road need to begin at home and in school.”
