Sugito students welcomed

Busselton Dunsborough Times

A group of exchange students from Sugito, Japan were welcomed to Busselton at a function at Railway House on Monday.

The students are visiting as part of the Sugito to Busselton student exchange program which began in 1994 to help contribute peace and understanding between the two cities.

The program - now in its 23rd year - is open to year nine students from the five secondary schools in Busselton.

Consul general of Japan in Perth Tatsuo Hirayama attended the function and presented the Busselton and Sugito Sister Cities Association with a Foreign Ministers commendation for its contribution to deepening friendship between the cities.
