Top marks for long career
Dunsborough Primary School teacher Peter Watts is retiring after 34 years at the school.
Mr Watts started his teaching career at Busselton Primary school in 1978 before moving to Dunsborough Primary School in 1983.
He has taught a range of students from Years 3-7 and said he would miss being a part of the school community.
“I’ll miss the collegiate spirit of working with staff, but also the spontaneity of every day,” he said. “Just the unusual things that can happen and do happen”
Mr Watts said while he did not have a background in science, he had enjoyed taking on the subject and had become quite passionate about it.
The Year 3/4 teacher, who instructed his final class yesterday, said his plans for retirement were not set in concrete, but he hoped to enjoy living in “the best part of the world” and also set off on some travel.
