Applications now open for Kleenheat community grants program

Regional community groups across the State are being encouraged to apply for funding in the latest round of Kleenheat Community Grants and the chance to receive $1000 in funding. In each round, 20 community groups and non-for-profits throughout regional WA are selected to receive the $1000 grants across five different categories. Categories include Connected Communities, Inspiring Bright Minds, Health & Wellbeing, A Healthy Planet, and Cultural Diversity, each aimed at a different sector of community life. Developed in 2020, the program has provided more than $60,000 in grants to a wide range of WA community organisations. Kleenheat general manager Tanya Rybarczyk said the grants directly support WA regional communities. “Kleenheat is proud to be part of many Western Australian regional communities and we appreciate the exceptional work so many community organisations do here,” she said. “Local programs and community initiatives are run by volunteers and community members and are often the glue that holds local communities together, so we are excited to be able to support regional go-getters in building stronger, healthier and happier places to live. “Our grants program continues to make a big difference in local communities, supporting organisations that build stronger, healthier and happier places to live and we encourage community groups from across regional Western Australia to apply.” Many South West groups have been past recipients, with the latest round including Ludlow Tuart Forest Restoration Group, Augusta FM Radio, Thommo’s Community Garden in Bunbury, Little Taddies Child Care Centre, and Manjimup Community Gardens.
