After a sell-out inaugural event that raised more than $100,000 for childhood brain cancer, the South West’s most lavish charity affair is back for 2023.

Yallingup’s Tiller Farm will once again transform into a luxurious black tie gala when Rhapsody for Cancer returns for another mesmerising evening on June 17.

Founded by Yallingup grandmother Anne Preston-Carter, who was inspired to host the fundraiser in honour of her eight-year-old grandson who suffers from a rare kind brain cancer, this year’s event will be raising funds for two special charities.

Returning from last year, brain cancer research organisation The Pirate Ship Foundation will once again receive a generous donation from the event, with Kids Cancer Support Group also set to benefit from this year’s funding.

Mrs Preston-Carter said she is looking forward to another “wonderful” evening supporting a deserving cause.

“This year we are sharing the love and bringing on board Kids Cancer Support Group (as beneficiaries),” she said.

“They do amazing things for the children and families to help navigate their way through the system and provide support to everyone through what can be a very traumatic journey to make life as normal as possible.”

With additional seating added to this year’s campaign, 120 guests will be hosted to an exclusive evening of classical music, fine wine, scrumptious meals, dancing and entertainment by Perth ensemble Aquila and singer-songwriter Mark Turner.

Several local businesses have also returned to be involved in the night’s luxury auction showcasing the best of what the South West has to offer, with Mrs Preston-Carter saying it will be an unforgettable night.

“Organisations get asked a lot to donate to various things but for me, to be chosen, it’s great to see these businesses showing their confidence and their faith in the event and the cause,” she said.

“Even as people were walking out the door last year they were asking for the date of the next event, so we can’t wait to bring it back this year have the whole community involved in raising money because last year was just fantastic.”

An all-inclusive $500 ticket to the gala can be purchased in-store at Nina’s Diamonds Dunsborough or by contacting rhapsody@pirateshipfoundation.com.au, with guests encouraged to get in quick to avoid disappointment.
