Dunsborough Bidesi siblings, Isabella and Cooper, shine bright in Little Athletics State Championships

Dunsborough runner Isabella Bidesi continues to show her star power, taking out a gold trifecta at the 2022 State Little Athletics Championships in February. Showing off some impressive times, Isabella was the first to cross the line in the 1500m, 800m and 400m track events, rounding out her outstanding meet with best performer for Bunbury Little Athletics Club. She narrowly missed another State record by only one second in the 800m event. Younger brother Cooper also showed the Bidesi skills run deep, competing in the 1500m race walk and being the only regional race walker to qualify this season. Cooper managed to improve on his 2021 time by more than two minutes to finish a close race in fourth place —only two seconds off second. The outstanding weekend of track saw the Bidesi duo both qualify for the National Championships set down for Sydney later this year. The Sydney trip will be a second for Isabella who will fly to the city in March aiming to finish in the top three runners in the under-16 800m in a bid to make the World Junior Championships qualifier.
