Ever-optimistic Lisa Woodbrock to dazzle Heart with Michael Buble cabaret

Residents of Margaret River are about to be “Feeling Good”, with a new Michael Buble-inspired cabaret set to take the stage at the Margaret River Heart.

Self-confessed Buble fan Lisa Woodbrock is bringing her “eternally optimistic” show Feeling Way Too Good: The Songs of Michael Buble to the South West on August 12 in a hilarious look at the twists and turns of everyday life.

Renowned for her powerhouse vocals, hilarious energy and larger-than-life stage presence, Woodbrock said the show was all about what to do “when life gives you lemons”.

“The show is basically all your favourite Michael Buble tunes with comedy,” she said.

“It basically explores the beauty of getting those lemons in life and how they actually are opportunities, as corny as it sounds. It’s all a lot of fun.

“I don’t think . . . many other women do the crooner thing, so it’s a bit different — a Michael Buble show with a woman in a pink suit.”

The Margaret River performance follows the show’s popular run in Perth.

“Bringing the show to different communities, I think it really enriches that community value,” Woodbrock said.

“If I can get on the road and bring my shows to the region, this feels great for me and the band, because we’re bringing music and theatre to communities that don’t get it as often, so it’s really special.”

In addition to the show, Woodbrock will be hosting a workshop for ticket-holders aged 12 and up who want to refine their performance skills.

“I think it’s just really special to share ideas about your craft with others who are interested in it,” she said.

“Even if they’re interested in a hobby capacity, and not even professionally, it’s just really exciting to share the knowledge that you have with someone else who’s also passionate about it.”
