Garden enthusiasts are being encouraged to save the date as GeoCatch prepares to host its first Bay OK Native Open Gardens weekend in October.

The two-day event will be held from October 10-11, featuring examples of native gardens across Busselton and Dunsborough

Alongside garden exploring and getting the chance to hear from their hosts, visitors will get the opportunity to go on bushwalks, attend garden workshops across all experience levels, while a “verge gardens self-drive” will also be available.

The event will celebrate and explore how biodiversity is supported by native gardening and how choosing native plants can establish waterwise, low-maintenance gardens suitable for the region’s climate while also helping to reduce fertiliser run-off into waterways.

GeoCatch is now looking for host gardens, including native gardens or native verge gardens, across Busselton and Dunsborough, with those interested encouraged to contact Lisa Massey by July 31 at lisa.massey@geocatch.asn.au.

Those with wildlife-friendly features such as a bird bath, bee hotels or possum boxes, are also encouraged to get in contact.

A full program of the event and tickets for purchase are set to available in August.
