After the excitement of last weekend's Chevron City to Surf for Activ, runners are again limbering up to take on the Dirty Dozen Dunsborough Dirt Dash.

The event, to be held next weekend along bike trails on the Dunsborough MTB skills development park, is a 12km run full of obstacles and plenty of mud.

Organised by the Dunsborough and Districts Country Club, the annual race has proved popular with runners looking to challenge themselves at the tail end of winter.

Race director Andrew Cohen said no pre-registrations were needed; just turn up between 7am and 8am ready to run.

Cohen said the race had thrown up plenty of surprises. "It's different every year," he said.

"(However) the reactions have been very positive." For more information about the race, visit fixedstars.com.au.
