You won’t be able to resist the latest stars to take over Barnard Park, with Australian rock legends Midnight Oil adding Busselton to its final international tour line-up for September. The Resist Tour, in honour of the band’s latest album, has been on the road since the album’s release in February of this year and is set to come to Western Australia next month for the final leg of tour. With stops already scheduled for Broome and Perth’s Swan Valley, Busselton’s Barnard Park has been confirmed for Friday, September 23 for what will be the second last stop of the band’s final ever tour. Joining the Oils on stage will be Brisbane based alt-rock trio Regurgitator, known tunes like ! (The Song Formerly Known As) and Kung Foo Sing. Fans have been told to expect new material as well as some much loved classics on the night. Resist has become the band’s fifth ARIA number one album, with the tour taking North America and Europe by storm before wrapping up in WA. While the band announced that this will be their final concert tour, they have made it clear this does not mean the end of the Oils. Each of the members will continue their own projects in the years ahead and members have expressed they remain very open to recording new music together in future and supporting causes in which they believe. The performance will lead into the Good Days Sunshine Festival at Barnard Park on Saturday, September 24, with headline acts including Leon Bridges and the Teskey Brothers. Tickets for the concert will be available from Monday, August 22 at 10 midnightoil.com.
