Three nationally acclaimed dancers are set to shift gears, lending their talents to a cult-classic musical coming to Busselton in May.

Twins Drew and Brayden Nicholas and Cardin Farnham are set to take the stage in Bare Naked Event’s upcoming production of ABBA’s iconic jukebox musical Mamma Mia!, hitting the High Street Hall from May 12-22.

Recently returning from a national level victory at the Dancella competition in Queensland with their free-style troop The Society, the trio were excited to change it up and switch their dancing shoes for the theatre.

“It’s been great,” Brayden said.

“It’s seems that everybody’s switched on and they’ve all been putting in a lot of work, you can see that everybody has been really rehearsing and we’re all super excited.”

Directed by Stephen Lee, Mamma Mia! tells the story of Sophie’s search for her birth father. On the eve of her wedding, her quest to discover the identity of her father brings three men from her mother’s past back to the Greek Islands they visited 20 years ago.

Farnham will take on the role of the vivacious and comedic Pepper, a role he says takes him back to his youth.

“I’m bordering on 30 now, but during my early 20s I definitely carried that arrogance and headspace of Pepper,” he said.

“I have a really good time with the character, a really fun character to kind of ham up and a bit bravado, I have a really good time with it.”

The boys were scouted in a Perth Fringe Festival performance earlier this year and were excited to venture to the region, a place close to home for the Nicholas brothers.

“Our mum’s from Bunbury,” Drew said.

“We holiday down here pretty much every year and it’s awesome to get out and perform out of Perth, whether it’s Queensland or Busselton, we’re getting to meet and work with a whole bunch of people.”

The show will open next Thursday night with tickets available at https://www.barenakedevents.com.au/mamma-mia/.
