Sam to ride silvery wave of success to shore

Sam Tucker is surfing his way to a championship silver jacket in the Yallingup Board Riders competition.

Tucker won the open division in round 6 at Smiths Beach on Saturday, when a 10-point ride took him to top spot against strong competition.

Past club champion Chris Davie was the runner-up, following by youngster Josh Cattlin and Tylan Lambert.

Club president Todd Taylor said Cattlin was outstanding in the latest round.

He was only beaten by Jack Thomas in the under-16 division, and Thomas is in fine form, taking out the Gracetown Grommets Classic the following day.

In the seniors’ division, Tom Trigwell led the way and Dave Anderson won the master division, ahead of Dave Hopkins, Paul Burke and Mick Drmota.

Taylor thanked Paul “Antman” Paterson for supporting the event.
