Busselton Choral Society are set to sing the winter blues way, as they prepare for their annual concert.

The choir comes together every year during the winter time, to perform the songs they have been learning to family, friends and the general public.

“The winter concert is basically just a showcase of all the songs that we learn over the past six months, but it’s also an opportunity to get some other local talent involved as well,” Busselton Choral Society conductor Melissa Tuoma said.

This year the guest artist will be Old Time Music Group who include a wide range of instruments in their repertoire.

Tuoma said the choir will be performing a variety of songs from a range of different genres.

“We do a mixture of traditional songs as well as 60s pop and gospel songs, so it’s a pretty vast variety,” she said.

The concert will be held at the Busselton Uniting Church on the August 6 from 2pm.

Tickets are available for purchase at the door and includes a morning tea.

“We also encourage anyone who wants to get involved with our choir to come along, we meet every Thursday at 7pm at the Busselton RSL.”
