After knocking off table-toppers Bunbury by 13 points in a grand final rematch on home turf, Busselton Magpies will be looking to continue building momentum towards the finals. Busselton will host Eaton Boomers at Sir Stewart Bovell Park on Sunday as the business end of the season approaches. Sitting fourth, the Magpies have started finding form at home with consecutive victories over Donnybrook and Bunbury. The efforts of Ethan Bowman, Austin Styles, Jackson Arbon and Jon Meadmore have helped Busselton build in the midfield and back line while goals from forwards Liam Creighton, Jaxon East and Dylan Patterson have boosted the Magpies’ percentage. The match will be an emotional one for the Magpies as they pay tribute to the late Ken Crawford, a longtime club supporter. Meanwhile, Eaton Boomers will be looking to make sure they keep away from the dreaded wooden-spoon position. Despite a courageous start and stand-out performances from the likes of Jake Phillips, Callum Radecki and Mitch Kings, the Boomers were unable to hold off a determined Donnybrook in their come-from-behind 12.6 (78) to 9.9 (63) victory at Glen Huon Reserve. The loss has found the Boomers in the middle of a rut in form after losing the past two games in a row since their round 12 win over Donnybrook in wet conditions.
