Busselton talent heading to Sydney for national volleyball championships

Busselton talent Kaleb Boyle’s hard work and dedication has paid off, earning him a place in the under 23’s WA State volleyball team. The 20-year-old comes from a family of volleyballers, which is how he was first introduced to the sport just seven years ago. “My whole family chain has played and I just used to watch, but then I decided to get involved,” Boyle said. He flies to Sydney alongside his teammates on Thursday to compete in the weekend long national championships, which will start on Saturday. “I’m pretty excited as I’ve worked very hard towards this,” he said. “I’ve made the squad a few times, but I’ve never actually made the final cut,” he said. When asked how he expects the team to perform in the tournament, Boyle said they had a good chance of coming out on top. “We actually have a very good shot,” he said. “We have a few 22-year-olds who bring a lot of experience but also a lot of younger guys, so it’s a good mix.” “I’m really excited to verse my own age group for once, as I feel like I’ve always just played against people who are older than me.” “It will be good to see where I rank up against the rest of Australia in my age group and maybe even get a good highlight clip to go to the States in the future.”
