Busselton to host Bulldogs for WAFL clash with Royals

South Western Times

South West football fans will get the chance to see some of the State’s best footballers when East Perth play South Fremantle at Sir Stewart Bovell Park tomorrow.

With finals fast approaching the Royals and Bulldogs are heading down south, hoping to claim the valuable four points before September.

South Fremantle are in second place, just a game clear of Peel Thunder who are one of the form teams of the competition.

This gives both sides added incentive to win this weekend, as finals spots and double chances become all the talk of the WAFL.

The last time the two side’s met it was the Royals who won a one-point thriller at Fremantle Community Bank Oval when West Coast Eagles-listed forward Tom Lamb booted three goals and defender Jackson Nelson was best-on-ground.

Busselton product Ashton Hams racked up 27 disposals for the Bulldogs in their tight loss.

There will be four games in Busselton, with the reserves game between Busselton and Augusta-Margaret River to start at 9.30am, followed by the league and then the WAFL at 2.15pm.

The colts will then hit the ground from 5pm to finish off the day.

Gates will open at 9am and full bar and canteen facilities will be available.
