Bunbury will come alive with the colour of different cultures on Saturday afternoon with the South West Multicultural Festival.

Bunbury Multicultural Group chairwoman Shamara Williams said the festival was about building bridges and creating harmony within the larger community.

“People like to see their culture represented, so having food, dance or seeing other people from their cultural group is always a positive thing,” she said.

By people having these fun and informal experiences it builds more of an understanding and knowledge of these cultures.

Following the flag parade, there is be a Night Under the Stars concert from 6pm at the Graham Bricknell Memorial Music Shell until 9pm.

Ms Williams encouraged visitors to come along for a fun evening and “bring a picnic rug or a low chair for a VIP seat up the front.”
