More than 280 budding tennis fans throughout the South West have received new racquets this week thanks to a visit from the ANZ Tennis Hot Shots Racquet Roadshow.

The roadshow paid Rapids Landing and Dunsborough primary schools a visit, as well as St Mary MacKillop College and Cooinda and South Bunbury primary schools across Monday and Tuesday.

Students were paid a virtual visit by tennis legend Todd Woodbridge, who shared his career journey and hosted a question and answer session with the future tennis players.

Woodbridge said he was passionate about inspiring the next generation of players and encouraged the students to get stuck in to everything tennis had to offer.

South Bunbury Primary School students Shreyn Patel, Paul Davies and Sophie Spencer said they were excited to play with their new tennis racquets.

The students were also given the chance to test out their skills on the courts with a coaching session from Bunbury tennis coach Andrew Woodward.

The initiative aims to create ongoing and accessible pathways for continued participation in tennis.
