Vance Joy announces The Long Way Home Tour will come to the South West next year

Vance Joy fans will find their missing piece next year, thanks to the news the Aussie favourite is returning home in a star studded two month Australian tour. WA’s quaint beachside town of Busselton will be filled with joy as the hit maker marks it as his only WA stop on The Long Way Home Tour announced this week. The 13-date tour will spring into action September 17 in Darwin, circle through Queensland and New South Wales before landing in Busselton November 12 at Barnard Park and ending in his home town of Melbourne on November 26. The announcement comes off the back of the Melbourne heart throb’s five ARIA Award nominations, including best artist, best pop release for his latest hit Missing Piece and song of the year. Coming along way since his hit 2013 hit single Riptide launched him into international stardom, the dreamer will bring along special guests The Rubens, Thelma Plum, Middle Kids, Budjerah and Mia Wray along for the ride. Joy, who was last in WA in 2018 for his Nation of Two tour, said he was excited to return home after almost two years of COVID-19 lockdowns and quarantines. “I’ve been talking about doing a tour like this one for years, so it’s incredibly exciting that it’s becoming a reality,” he said. “I love touring in Australia and can’t wait to really explore the country on this extended tour, playing not just the cities but also regional areas too. “It’s been way too long since I’ve been on tour in Australia so I cannot wait to reconnect with everyone again and play some new songs as well as the favourites,” His latest single, Missing Piece, was named a “tried and true love song” by Variety Magazine and is his first music release in three years. The song speaks about the tyranny of long-distance relationships and the euphoria of reuniting, which he wrote while quarantining in Melbourne separated from his girlfriend who lives in Spain. Missing Piece has since become Joy’s seventh top 40 hit in Australia, is top 5 at Alt Radio in the US and Canada and was featured in the iconic US TV drama Greys Anatomy. Now one of Australia's finest contemporary singer-songwriters, Vance Joy boasts two number one albums - 2014’s Dream Your Life Away and 2018’s Nation of Two - has won two ARIA awards and 10 of his songs are now ARIA-certified platinum or multi-platinum, including his breakout Riptide which is currently 12x platinum.
