Race day on track with fashion, fun and music

It wasn’t the race round punters expected at the beginning of the year, but the absence of horses didn’t make Kununurra Race Club’s 2020 COVID Cup any less memorable.Hundreds of people wore their best dresses, fascinators and novelty face masks on September 5 for a fun afternoon on the lawn.If a fancy tipple wasn’t enough to keep guests entertained, the club held its annual Fashions on the Field competition and diamond bracelet raffle.Novelty races kept some action on the track, with children and adults all taking part in races including hobby horse, egg and spoon, the adults’ footrace and an “undie” dash. The day culminated with a live performance from Ash Williamson and two-up games. Picture: The Kimberley Echo/Elise Van Aken/Kevin and Cheryl Lipscombe.
