A woman has been taken to hospital after a crash in the Northbridge tunnel Thursday morning.

The woman, aged in her 30s, sustained a shoulder injury in the incident understood to have involved a car and a truck.

She was taken to RPH with non life threatening injuries.

The crash caused west-bound traffic to bank up, pictures from witnesses showed, with the tunnel reduced to a single lane.

Main Roads WA revealed the incident had been cleared at 9.30am.
