Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored a game-high 31 points as Oklahoma City completed a first-round sweep of Phoenix in the NBA playoffs with a 131-122 road win.

The Thunder, who have a 12-0 record in the first round over the last three seasons, will face the winner of the Los Angeles Lakers-Houston Rockets series in the Western Conference semifinals.

The Lakers have a 3-1 lead, though the Rockets won Game 4.

Gilgeous-Alexander and Chet Holmgren (24 points) were the stand-outs as Oklahoma City closed out their series with an overwhelming offensive performance.

Holmgren, who also had 12 rebounds, and fellow big Isaiah Hartenstein (18 points and 12 rebounds) were influential, while Ajay Mitchell added 22 points and made four triples, with the Thunder a combined 17-of-34 from long range.

Now eliminated, Phoenix have a 10-game losing streak in the playoffs that dates back to 2023.

Devon Booker (24 points), Dillon Brooks and Jalen Green (23 each) led the Suns, who were without center Mark Williams (foot) and guard Jordan Goodwin (calf).

Also in the Western Conference, Denver kept their season alive with a 125-113 win home win over Minnesota, who lead their series 3-2.

Nikola Jokic had a triple-double for the Nuggets with 27 points, 16 assists and 12 rebounds, while Jamal Murray added 24 points and Spencer Jones had 20.

Julius Randle top-scored for the Timberwolves with 27 points to go with nine rebounds.

In the Eastern Conference, Orlando moved to within one win of knocking off a No.1 seed and winning their first playoff series in 16 years.

The Magic beat Detroit 94-88 behind Desmond Bane's 22 points and took a 3-1 series lead, putting the No.1 seed Pistons on the brink of elimination.

Game 5 is on Wednesday night (localt time) in Detroit.

"We put our ourselves in position to try to get four, but right now it means nothing," Magic coach Jamahl Mosley said.

"We have the advantage and now we have to try and make sure we keep that advantage."

Orlando, who had to win an elimination game at home in the play-in tournament, are on the verge of becoming just the seventh No.8 seed to defeat a No.1 seed in a series in league history.

It has happened only four times since the playoffs were expanded to a best-of-seven series for all rounds in 2003.
