A stunning unbeaten century to Test allrounder Cameron Green has put Western Australia in a commanding position at 3-325 at stumps on day one of their Sheffield Shield clash with Queensland at The Gabba.

The visitors were on the back foot at 2-16 after being sent in by Bulls skipper Usman Khawaja on Saturday morning, but Green combined with Shaun Marsh (70) to put on a match-turning 226-run partnership.

Cameron Bancroft was the first to go, caught behind in the fourth over for one run.

The visitors were reeling at 2-16 when Wildermuth removed Sam Whiteman for 13, caught by Marnus Labuschagne at second slip, before Green and Marsh combined to turn the tide in WA’s favour.

Wildermuth finished the day with figures of 2-52 from 18 overs with six maidens.
