The Bulldogs’ bite is back with two key position stars returning for their bumper clash with Peel in Mandurah on Saturday.

Bernie Naylor medallist Mason Shaw and defender Jordan Boullineau return after extended injury lay-offs, giving fourth-placed South Fremantle much-needed size as they take on a Fremantle-ladened Thunder.

Shaw hasn’t played since round seven.

He missed three weeks with a minor knee injury, then spent four weeks in the reserves to build back his form.

Boullineau is also coming off a longer stint, having not played since round nine because of turf toe.

The pair’s return has the Bulldogs well placed going into the final four rounds of the season, as they battle for a spot in the top three and a double chance in finals.

Star midfielder Jake Florenca is also a chance to play finals as he pushes to return from a serious hamstring injury sustained in their round eight win over East Perth.

Fifth-placed Thunder are searching for their fourth consecutive win.

The hold fifth spot on percentage from Swan Districts, who welcome back forward Jesse Palmer, co-captain Brandon Erceg as well as first-round draft fancy Elijah Hewett among five inclusions for their game against West Coast at Steel Blue Oval.

More than four points is on the line for Swan Districts with a significant percentage boost also vital to their finals chances ahead of big games against East Fremantle, West Perth and the Thunder.

West Coast will have just five AFL-listed players, including Alex Witherden, Zane Trew and Jack Williams.

The other two will be unused emergencies from West Coast’s AFL side which faces Fremantle on Saturday evening.

Bailey Williams, Patrick Naish, Isiah Winder and Greg Clark are all waiting to see if they will be held over as contingencies for the western derby.

East Perth have handed Sandon Page a debut as they look to keep their finals hopes alive with a win over Subiaco, the team he won a colts premiership for in 2020.

Captain Jackson Ramsay is suspended, while Harley Sparks and Corey Watts were dropped.

The Lions named five-time premiership ruckman Lachlan Delahunty, who announced this week that he would retire at the end of the season.

Forward Ryan Borchet has surprisingly been named as an emergency after taking personal leave last month.

He has kicked 24 goals in 13 games this year.
