West Coast midfield bull Jack Graham’s season could be all but over after the Eagles put a timeline on his recovery from a shoulder injury.
Graham played through a shoulder injury in their Gather Round loss to Geelong, which was expected to keep him out until at least after the bye in round 15.
However, the Eagles have now revealed the former Tiger is 9-11 weeks away from a comeback, which could take him all the way out until the round 20 western derby.
That’s assuming he doesn’t require any time in the WAFL to recondition, which would push an AFL return out into the final weeks of the season.
It’s a huge blow for the under siege Eagles who are bereft of big midfield bodies with Deven Robertson’s season ended by an ACL injury in the same game.
Graham has been the main enforcer in West Coast’s midfield since coming across from Richmond, averaging more than six tackles per game.
In better news, key defender Harry Edwards will return through the WAFL this weekend after exiting concussion protocols.
“Harry has been building his match fitness over a number of weeks and has completed two full sessions since being cleared of protocols,” high-performance manager Phil Merriman said.
“We’re planning for him to be available for selection as long as he gets through training this week.”
Recruit Brandon Starcevich is also edging closer to an Eagles debut as he continues to build his loads after a calf injury.
“We may see Brandon taking part in a drill or two this week, with the plan to continue progressing his football work and total volumes,” Merriman said.

There is still no timeline on a return for Archer Reid who missed the Eagles’ clash with St Kilda with knee soreness.
“Archer is improving with his knee soreness. We will make a decision in the coming days regarding his return to play timeline,” Merriman said.
Draftee Sam Allen has made a jump in his progression from a knee injury sustained in his draft year, now listed as five weeks away.
“Sam is continuing to be exposed to team breakdown drills and is now entering his performance block as we build him back towards match availability,” Merriman said.
