Travellers have been stranded in Bali for hours today after a major computer glitch at Denpasar Airport, with crowds growing increasingly restless.

Flights to and from the popular holiday destination have been delayed tonight after the airport’s immigration system went down about midday for just over three hours, causing chaos inside the terminal.

Pictures from inside show thousands crammed into the facility.

Inbound and outbound passengers have been stuck for hours, with frustrations boiling over.

There are reports at least one frustrated person had to be taken away by police.

The computer system was back up and running tonight, but staff are trying to work through a massive back log of passengers.

All airlines have been affected.

Passengers travelling to Bali are advised to contact their airline.
