Taco Bell to open first Perth restaurants in Midland and Ellenbrook
MEXICAN-inspired mega chain (or burrito behemoth) Taco Bell has announced plans to open its first restaurants in Western Australia this year.
While Collins Foods, which holds the franchisee rights to Taco Bell in Australia, is keeping the details of its plans to enter the Perth market under wraps it has confirmed on Facebook it is coming to Perth in 2021.
It has also started advertising for staff to man its Midland store and is also named in an application as part of a new development in Ellenbrook.
“We’re on our way to WA,” the Facebook post said.
“Taco Bell Perth coming in HOT in 2021.”
The City of Swan has received a development application to build a gym, five showrooms, drive through liquor store and seven fast food outlets, including Taco Bell, on a vacant site on The Promenade in Ellenbrook.
Collins Foods, which also holds the franchisee rights to KFC in Australia and Sizzler in Asia, opened its first Taco Bell down under in Queensland in 2017.
It currently operates 16 Taco Bell restaurants across Queensland and Victoria.
Taco Bell opened its first store in California in 1962 and has now grown to more than 7,000 restaurants worldwide.
The restaurants serve a variety of Mexican-inspired foods including tacos, burritos, quesadillas and nachos.
